Caught on Tape: Quick-Acting Everett Police Nab Robbery Suspect

Quick-thinking Everett police nabbed a 17-year old suspect after a string of robbery on Broadway and Ferry Streets Tuesday. The incidents occurred at Guys Smoke Chop on Broadway, then at a liquor store and market both on Ferry St.

Everett police said they responded to a report of an armed robbery Tuesday afternoon at Guys Smoke Shop at 432 Broadway. A suspect allegedly brandished a gun and fled with $200. Police used a K-9 unit but no suspect was found.

Then, at around 6 p.m., police said another armed robbery occurred at a liquor store in Walgreens Plaza on Ferry Street. The suspect there matched the description of the first robbery. Minutes later, another armed robbery happened at a market on Ferry Street. Surveillance video shows the suspect trying to open the register when seconds later, two officers rush in and take him to the ground, according to WCVB-TV.

The suspect is a 17-year-old and was taken into custody and charged with armed robbery in connection with the Ferry Street incident. He’ll appear in Cambridge Juvenile Court Wednesday.
